Pumpkins & Candy Corn

Lately, I have been seeing crafts floating around Pinterest that use wood 2x4s. Not only do they look cute but they are a great use of scrap wood. My mother and I decided that we would try a couple out and gear up for the fall season.

Here is the link for the tutorial on the pumpkins we did:

Here is the link for the candy corns that we did:

Things we did different:
*We didn't distress the candy corns because we decided we liked them the way they was.
*We used wood glue for the pumpkins and stem. (liquid nail would also work)
* We didn't use stain on the stem we just used craft paint.
* We didn't rub stain on the pumpkins we just dry brushed brown paint leftover from stem.

The only thing that we ended up having to buy for this project was the dowel rod. Everything else we already had on hand which is always great! Also a big Thank You goes out to my husband for cutting the wood! :)
